This page will contain notification and advice, about the Gateshead Cycleways.
It is here for anyone to post anything which you think may help others
i.e. route closures and diversions, road works or even dodgy corners,
slippery surfaces etc. which you have encountered on your travels.
Jan. 2008 - Tanfield Railpath
A new light controlled crossing over the busy A692 road is now in use for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.

28/04/2005 Keelman's Way / Derwent Walk Guide notes
Guide notes improved with links to National Cycle Network routes outside Gateshead now linked to sister websites - Hadrian's Cycleway and Three Rivers - at boundaries with South Tyneside and County Durham and the bridges crossing over the River Tyne. This eliminates duplication within the three websites & makes life easier for me !!
These links will open in a new window and allow NCN routes to be followed across the boundary.

24th March 2005 - Keelmans Way NCN 14
It is now possible to cycle along NCN 14 between Swing Bridge and Team Street partly using the new riverside route and partly on existing paths - the new section through the Wimpey Staithes South Bank development is not yet fully complete but is expected to be finished in the next few weeks.
