Cross Lane Cycleway
MetroCentre to Watergate Country Park
Starting from Cross Lane at junction with NCN 14 Keelman's Way
Head west along Cross Lane to mini roundabout and either:-
Turn right up to traffic lights - then left onto off-road path towards subway,
or
Bear left and at bend in road turn right to join off-road path passing brewery (L)Pass through subway and start to climb steeply up the side of the Tyne Valley.
Cross straight over Market Lane and ahead to join Duckpool Lane.
Turn left onto Whickham Highway - passing Police station (L) and turn right into Washingwell Lane.
Take care when turning right on Whickham Highway
At end of Washingwell Lane turn right - continue straight ahead then left passing Marshall Lands Farm (R) - over Black Burn (stream) to join the Tanfield Railway Path just before A 692 road.
