
Starting from the District Boundary and NCN 14 - keep left and pass around gate and ahead along a wide rough track (trackbed of the old Pelaw waggonway) to the bus turning circle.
Bear right along Brack Ter. pass pub (R) and left at X-roads - ahead and cross A185 Shields Road to join off road path leading to Pelaw Metro Sation. Cross railway tracks using either footbridge to end of Kirkwood Gardens.
Join traffic free path and ahead between housing estates to the subway under the A184 Felling Bypass .
Link 2 to East Gateshead Cycleway - crosses route just before subway.
After passing through subway cross Sunderland Road, Lanes Grange road and Colgate to join road - turn left and follow Creslow around to Whitehill Drive.
Turn left uphill on Whitehill Drive and turn left after Whitehouse Way on to the open grassland to follow the track to Wrekenton.

Cross B1296 Old Durham Road towards a tall aerial. Bear left to join traffic free path downhill passing golf course (R) - under road bridge and then steeply downhill to sweep around in a long right hand bend.
Bear left and pass through long subway under A167 and steeply downhill again.
For Angel of the North - turn sharp left back up to A167 road - turn right and follow shared use path alongside road.
Pass under road bridge following track beside houses and through gap into Salcombe Gardens to Chowdene Bank - turn left downhill - over rail bridge to mini roundabout and right into Supermarket car park and of Teams Cycleway.
Continues as an advisary cycle route along Queensway through the
Team Valley Trading Estate
to link with the Bensham Cycleway at the Lobey Hill Road.
