National Cycle Route 66 is the latest in the Sustrans Program to create new City Link Routes.
The Pictures you see above are the from the Trailblazing ride carried out by the local Sustrans rangers. It is a measure of the importance of the route that a couple of years later work was started. It is at this time still a work in progress but has the promise to be one of the most exciting cycle routes local to Derby. Most Derby routes are flattish being along River valleys, but this route starts in the hills of Breadsall and eventually will take the rider to the doorstep of Shipley Park.
