The Friends of the Fallowfield Loop organise and are involved in a variety of events and activities - the below is by no means a comprehensive list of all the Friends' past activities but gives some examples of what we do!

Environmental
Bulb-planting, Levenshulme Station and Athol Road, 30 October 2004
Tree-planting and allotment-clearing, Lindley Wood Road (with Sale and Altrincham Conservation Volunteers), 30 January 2005
Bird, plant and tree surveys of the Loop were conducted by or on behalf of the Friends during the year
Members attended the launch meeting of the Manchester Biodiversity Plan
Late October 2005: planting of bulbs and wildflowers along the Fallowfield Loop.
6 May 2006: Involvement in the Challenge Manchester 100 Days Campaign. The Friends supported a clean-up in the area, and had a stall publicising themselves and the route.

2 January 2005: New Year ride from St. Werburgh’s Road bridge
16 April 2005: ‘Veterans’ ride to Sunny Brow Park Centenary
17 June 2005: ‘Bevvy of the Brewers’ ride to the pubs around the Loop
19 June 2005: ‘Loop the Loop’ ride from Chorlton Water Park via Debdale and the Ashton Canal to Albert Square
10 July 2005: Ride from Fallowfield via Debdale to the Ashton and Peak Forest Canals and the River Tame Path.
7 May 2006: A "there and back" Loop ride from Debdale Park to Chorlton, forming part of the Challenge Manchester 100 Days Campaign.
4th June 2006: Ride out from the Loop to Chat Moss, Dunham Massey, Lymm etc. and back via the Trans-Pennine Trail.
23 June 2006: Evening pub bicycrawl around the Loop pubs.
5th June 2006: Loop the Loop ride from the Loop into town and back via the Ashton Canal and Debdale.
16 July 2006: Ride of around 25 miles east along the Ashton Canal to join the Peak Forest Canal and returning via the River Tame Path in Reddish Vale.
Promotional
Stalls were staffed to promote the Loop at Sunny Brow Park, 16 April 2005; The Garden of Delights, Platt Fields, 4 and 5 June 2005; Manchester Bike Week, St. Ann’s Square, 11 June 2005
Members of the committee pressed repeatedly and successfully for improved access and signposting along the Loop
We contributed to the revised and improved Manchester cycleway leaflet
An expedition was conducted to prospect a possible extension of the Loop along the track from Chorlton to Trafford Bar
10 June 2006: Promotional stall for the Friends at Sainsbury’s, Fallowfield, prior to National Bike Week.
Training
Rangers attended the Sustrans Rangers’ Training Day in Manchester on 19 March 2005
Talks
Talks are often given at members’ meetings; past speakers include Vince Goodwin (Sustrans Schools Officer), Iain Tierney (Cycling for Health project) and Mark Stevenson (Manchester City Cycling Officer)
