Ovingham Bridges (1883 & 1974)

The road bridge is very narrow with no room to pass.
It is single alternate way traffic but not controlled by traffic lights.

If you use the road bridge cycle down the middle to stop cars trying to pass you.

If you are not confident using the road bridge use the footbridge
Note:- no cycling allowed, please DISMOUNT and WALK across.

Ovingham Bridge, built by the Ovingham Bridge Company and opened as a toll bridge in 1883.
The tollhouse still exists adjacent to Prudhoe rail station. It was released from toll in 1945
and later a footbridge was erected in 1974 alongside downstream of the main bridge.
