Signing along Hadrian's Cycleway

Hadrian's Cycleway is shared with the Hadrian's Wall National Walking Trail between Newburn and Segedunum, Wallsend.
The Cycleway & Walking Trail follow separate routes between:-
a/. Newburn Bridge and Scotswood
b/. St. Peters and Walker

The entire section in Newcastle presently signed as HADRIAN'S WAY using signs with a BROWN background when the cycle route is also the Hadrian's Wall Path National Walking Trail.

Where the cycle route splits from HWPNT it is signed with BLUE signs and known as:
HADRIAN'S CYCLEWAY

Follow signs that have BOTH
a bike logo AND route number 72

Yellow / Black signs indicate a temporary diversion from the normal route

Sustrans "stick on" signs can also be found.

Waymark the route or to temporarily replace missing signs

On the Off Road sections in Northumberland these are used officially
and are mounted on short wooden posts with the sign mounted on a wooden frame.

Usually fixed to original sign post or other suitable post about head height.
