The dePund Cycle Club - an account by Hans Luthart from Amsterdam
From the September 1st till September 8th of 2004 the dePund cycle club from Amsterdam cycled along the Hadrian Wall Cycleway.
The original plan was to take the NCN72 from Tynemouth to Carlisle and back.
Near Vindolanda Roman Fort we met a group of Sustrans Rangers (including Doug Ridgway) [who were doing the World Heritage Ride] who gave us a new booklet
"Cycle Northumbria" with all the NCN routes in Northumbria. With this we managed to take an alternative route back to Tynemouth using the Penine Cycleway (NCN68) to the north and Reivers Cycle Route (RCR10) back east to Tynemouth.
