August 24th - South Tyneside Councils Environmental Fair
South Tyneside Council will be hosting an Environmental Fair in Bents Park, Sea Road, South Shields between the hours of 10.00am and 4.30pm.
Doug will be organising this - if you can help please reply by e-mail ASAP.

August 30th Big green Seaside Station Day (FOE)
The day will run from 10.00am-4.00pm and will be based in and around Whitley Bay
Metro station. Entertainment will be provided on a main stage, with street theatre
moving around the station.
Lindsay is organising this event and is looking for volunteers to run a Sustrans Display stand - if you can help please advise Lindsay before Aug 15th.

Coasts, Moors and Gentle Gradients
30th to the 31st of August

The ride starts and ends on the Newcastle Quayside. As it’s a circular route participants can join the ride closer to where they live if they wish.
The route will be along The Hadrian’s Way crossing the Tyne at Scotswood to join the Derwent Walk to Consett. At Consett the route heads towards Waskerley. The overnight stay will be at Consett YMCA (http://www.ymca.derwentside.org.uk/facilities.html).
Bed, breakfast and an evening meal will cost £20.00 per person. Secure bicycle parking is available.
There is bar, gym and a lecture room on site.
On Sunday the route is down the C2C to Sunderland and then along the coast to South Shields.
Crossing the Tyne by ferry the route will be along the Hadrian’s Way to Newcastle where the ride ends.
Regular stops will be made for resting and refreshments.
The pace will be that of the slowest.
If you want to do a day ride only it’s no problem, just let me know.

September 21st Stroke Association Charity Bike Ride.
A ride along the banks of the Tyne starting from Tynemouth following NCN 72 to Cycle Tunnel then NCN 14 to Millennium Bridge returning via NCN 72 to Tynemouth.

Possible Scotswood or Neburn Ramp area on NCN 72
Both areas becoming overgrown will rose and bramble bushes.

October 10th & 11th Liaison Rangers Conference - Newcastle
Ride on the Friday afternoon along the Banks of the Tyne,

November 6th Ride
Tea & Scones at the Workshop before setting off down Byker Link then down river on Hadrian's Cycleway, crossing the Tyne via Tunnel or Ferry to the Tea Rooms at Jarrow Hall, Bedes World for lunch and Bedes Ale !! Return via NCN 14 to Quayside.
