April. 11th 2007 - North Sea Ferry Terminal Link to NCN 72 / NSCR
Work has been completed on a new new exit / entrance - for cyclists only - from the North Sea International Ferry Terminal in North Shields. This links with NCN 72 Hadrian's Cycleway (North Sea Cycle Route) at Mile 171.3 and will be fully signed to & from the ferry terminal. The Cycle Information Shelter is located just outside the exit gate from the Terminal, see map. A covered cycle parking area has beem provided near the entrance.
This new link route avoids the busy roads in the area passing through Redburn Dene Park to the signalised crossing over Coble Dene dual carriageway.

Hadrian's Cycleway NCN 72 - west to Hexham, Haltwhistle, Carlise via Newcastle Quayside
Reivers - Regional Route 10 - north to Ponteland, Belingham, Kielder
North Sea Cycle Route south - follow Hadrian's Cycleway NCN 72 west to Newcastle.
North Sea Cycle Route north - follow Hadrain's Cycleway NCN 72 east to Tynemouth.
