At the top of Ballast Hill Road, the track bears away slightly to the right, at end of the track, turn left and immediately right into Dock Road.

Take next turn right into Lawson Street, pass through the industrial estate to a junction with Coach Lane.

Turn left and then immediate sharp right into Addison Street, and straight ahead.

Continue ahead, through Trinity Lane to junction with Borough Road.
 Observe STOP sign and check both ways before turning right downhill to junction.
Turn right for Shields Ferry and the Finish at Arbeia Roman Fort
  For the finish at Tynemouth turn left into Clive St. and continue ahead to Fish Quay.
174.6 Board the Shields Ferry and cross river to the Heritage Finish at Arbeia.
