159.0 Ahead under Blaydon Bridge and pass Green Mllennium Milepost (R) 263W then bear right up the ramp to the 3-way signpost at the Toucan Crossing.

Follow shared use pathway around left and cross over Lemington Bridge.
Pass boat yard (L) and at the White Pylon turn left to join the Newburn Riverside Trail.

This whole area has been reclaimed from the Stella North power station site and is being develop into the Newburn Riverside Industry Park, for Hi-Tech industries.

The large building with the moat around it is the headquarters of OneNE, the development agency for the North East.

The tall conical brick building which can be seen, is the Lemington Glass Cone, the only one left of five originally on this site and now a listed structure. It stands 120 ft high and was restored in 1993 by English Heritage and Newcastle City Council.

157.4 Continue following path along riverbank and then bear right away from river to junction with end of Shelley Road. Turn left and pass through gap in the embankment across end of this road. (the embankment is to stop illegal access to this area)

Pass through the Newburn Industrial Estate - keep ahead at T-jcn to pass the Warburton's Bakery. At sign turn right up the new linking ramp.
At top turn left onto railway path and ahead to the Blue Millennium Milepost

Hadrian's Cycleway to encourage the rare
Dingy Skipper Butterfly to feed and breed here.

156.4 Hadrian's Cycleway now leaves the urban landscape of Tyneside and continues up river.
