161.0 Continue along south side of Scotswood Road to traffic lights at Whitehouse Road junction and cross to the north side using light contolled crossing point and large central refuge.
160.3 Turn left and 75 mtrs bear right through blue access barrier and up slope to join the railway path - keeping ahead pass the Whitehouse Centre (R) to the 5-way junction and Green Millennium Milepost 154W. See diagram & photos below.
The link to C2C turns left here and crosses over the river to join NCN 14 to Consett.

159.6 At the junction take 2nd left turn - stay on grey path - bear right and continue ahead.

159.5 Ignore Hadrian's Wall Walking Trail sign which turns right here.
At next junction keep straight ahead and down ramp (black metal fence) to Scotswood Road bear right under large road sign on shared use path to Traffic Lights at a large roundabout.
159.4 Use the staggered Toucan Crossings to cross over to the south side and turn right along shared use path - ahead and cross over service road then join the riverside promenade and under Blaydon Bridge. [A1(T) road]
  The black multi span bridge diagonally over the river is the disused Scotswood Rail Bridge
Up river to Wylam

Down river to Newcastle, South Shields and Tynemouth

Cross river link via Scotswood Bridge
Linking to NCN 14 (C2C) - Keelmans Way and Derwent Walk

Bear left and cross the large footbridge over Scotswood Road and over Scotswood Bridge
