This web site is intended to be a guide to the
network of National Cycle Network routes
1, 7, 14 & 72 which together form the
Three Rivers Cycle Route linking
Teesside to Tyneside via County Durham.

Other linking routes will be added later.

It is a route of many contrasts linking the Tees, Wear and Tyne estuaries, the Cathedral City of Durham, Hadrian's Wall, sculpture trails, industrial heritage, mining and shipbuilding.

NCN 1
Runs north from Middlesborgh to Tynemouth via Stockton, Sunderland and South Shields, and forms part of the
North Sea Cycle Route
.

NCN 7
Runs east from Consett to Sunderand and is part of the
Sea to Sea - C2C

NCN 14
Winds its way from Stockton to South Shields via Hartlepool, Durham, Consett and Gateshead.
Part of the route from Consett to Blaydon and
through Gateshead is also the
Sea to Sea - C2C

NCN72
Runs along the north bank of the River Tyne
to Tynemouth and is part of
Hadrian's Cycleway and Sea to Sea - C2C
