Ryhope via Seaham
Cross A182 and follow railway path north 1/4 mile to Millennium Milepost and bear right (northeast) passing a large Electricity Sub station (L) - continue on railway path - pass through the Dalton Shopping outlet and following signs - cross over the A19(T) road at the road interchange.

Rejoin railway path and ahead steeply downhill 2 miles (old rope worked railway incline).

At end off railpath - turn right then left onto Cottages Road - under railway into Ropery Walk and turn left into Foundry Road.

At Y-jcn bear right in to South Terrace then South Cresent.

Turn left - right - left and ahead - on old mineral line trackbed - parallel with North Railway St. / Castlereagh Rd. and under B1404 - then bear right on to Harbour Walk.

Cross over railway line - (dismount to use gated foot crossing) - pass Seaham Station - on Station Road to join B1404.

Ahead and turn right into Earl Street - then left into lane between houses (L) and allotments (R) to Jcn with Northlea Road.

Turn right and at next Jcn bear left into Burnhill Drive - pass School (L) and follow off road path to Lord Byron's Walk - cross road and turn left on off road path to traffic lights.

Turn right onto B1285 - pass Glebe Estate (R) - turn left into industrial estate - left then right and join bridleway leading towards the A1018 embankment.

Pass under the A1018 south and northbound carriageways - follow path across field and turn right to join railway path at the Millennium Mile Post **
direct route from South Hetton joins here from the left.

From Millennium Milepost** continue northeast on railway path to Ryhope.

After passing under an old North Eastern Railway footbridge, turn left through barrier into Scotland Street, then bear left in to Station Rd. to T-jcn with A1018 Stockton Rd.
