There are several complicated sections passing through town centres and housing estates
in Billingham and Owton Manor - take care to look for NCN 14.

From the junction with NCN 1 - continue ahead the passing HM Prison (R) towards A19(T) road and turn left alongside anit-noise fence and up slip road to a roundabout.

Turn right clockwise around rbt. - cross over bridge on north side - left at next rbt. on verge path alongside A1027 to next rbt.

Turn right and cross road anti-clockwise around rbt. and continue north on otherside of road - over railway bridge to a large road junction.

This next section through Billingham is complicated - take care to follow NCN 14 signs.

Turn right - cross Station Road and ahead into Malvern Road - 2nd left into Grampian Road - next right into Kingsway.

Next left into Moreland Ave. - passing The Forum (R) and use safe crossing point over The Causeway into Melrose Ave.

Ahead and just before T-jcn with Rievaulx Ave. turn right onto off road path and cross Marsh House Ave. into Low Grange Ave.

Choice of route - both are signed.
Main via school and nature reserve - alternative route via Low Grange Ave.

Main route
Low Grange Ave. - take 3rd turn right into Hollingside Road - right into Redworth Road - at jcn with Gibside road turn left - then right into Gisburn Road - at end of road join off road path around school playing fields and across open area to Wolviston Back Lane - cross over and follow lane to A1185 road.
Cross over with care and rejoin main route at entrance (R) to Cowpen Bewly Woodland Country Park.

Alternative Route
Follow Low Grange Ave. around in a long left hand sweeping bend 1.5 miles and turn right into Wansford Close - join off road path and cross A1185 road - Seal Sands Link Road - on otherside turn right on path alongside A1185 and ahead to a lane.

Turn left passing the entrance (R) to Cowpen Bewley Woodland Country Park and Visitors Centre

Follow road passing sewage works (L+R) then path then lane to T-jcn.

Turn right to Greatham and left into High St. - ahead to busy A689 and cross using Toucan Crossings.

This section through Owton Manor has many turns - look out for NCN 14 signs

Ahead on cycle path - turn right into Thetford Rd. - turn left into Holland Rd. - right into Mowbray Rd.

Left into Catcote Road - right into Torquay Ave. - just after bends left into Claymore Road.

Left and Right over Owton Lane into Balmoral Road - right into Benmore Road to end.

Ahead on cycle path cross A689 again at the Toucan Crossing and turn right ontoservice road alongside A689 B1276 to Rbt.

Bear left staying on service road alongside Seaton Lane -straight over at Rbt, continue ahead on verge path then road - under railway bridge to junction with A178 at Seaton Carew.

Straight over and turn left onto promenade and follow north to Hartlepool.
