Hartlepool to Haswell
The section through Hartlepool and the housing estates is complicated, take care to look for NCN 14 signs. At end of promenade - left then right into Marina Ave. and ahead to cross Fleet Ave. Turn left into Victoria Terrace - over rail bridge and bear right into Church Street. Beware busy road Ahead and cross A689 at the Pelican Crossing - turn right and follow cycle path alongside A689 straight over two Rbt's then alongside A179 to next Rbt. Bear right long A1048 and left onto off road cycle path to A 1049. Cross over - turn left and under rail bridge - over next Rbt. and bear right into Burntoft Ave. Follow around to King Osmy Drive and bear right to join the cycle path along east side of road. Ahead and turn right into Ocean Road to bend and SA to join the off road cycle path and the Hart to Haswell walkway.

Ahead under A1086 and A19(T) roads and continue on railway path (Hart Haswell Walkway) several miles to cycleway junction near Wingate.
Choice of Route
Turn left to Stockton via Grindon
Continue to Haswell
Bear right and continue on railway path passing Shotton Colliery - under bridge to a road crossing and junction of cycle routes.
