Continue along Wagonway and straight over at Rbt. passing Caledonian Hotel (L).

Turn right and down hill towards the river - through bollards and left onto a short promenade.

Good views of shipyards on opposite bank of river.

Turn left uphill - through bollards to join road - through small industrial estate and turn right at T-jcn.

Follow road downhill around to left - where road turns right - bear left ahead through bollards into Hebburn Riverside Park.

This whole area from Bill Quay to Hebburn Quay was once a hive of industrial activity with
ship building, chemical works, coal mines and railways sidings for the coal loading staithes.
All this has been swept away to create the landscape you see today.

Follow path uphill and along the edge of bushes - keep ahead at path x-ing and uphill following field fence (L) to junction with gate ahead.

You now pass into Gateshead
The route is know as the Keelman's Way and is well signed from here
